Meet the Staff at Jerry Holman III, DDS
Debbie – Office Manager
Debbie began her career in 1974 working for a specialist in pediatric dentistry. In 1980 she began working for Dr. Holman where she further honed her already impressive skills to include expanded duties dentistry. While working for Dr. Holman, Debbie had the opportunity to incorporate into her expertise a profound efficiency in adult and geriatric dentistry. Her thirst for knowledge, and continued commitment to becoming the best dental professional she can, provide a strong impetus for growth and excellence.
Debbie’s commitment to Dr. Holman has carried over to the community of Oaklandon, where she decided to make her home, and where her son attended school and is now a student at IUPUI.
Deb is steadfast in her desire to help dentally challenged individuals, be it local programs to enhance dental education or mission work to far off locals, like Kenya, where she cared for desperately needful, poverty-stricken adults and children, is a testament to her character.
Deb’s forty plus years of experience and dental proficiency is on display in all facets of Dr. Holman’s practice on a daily basis and exemplifies his commitment to professionalism and service.
Gretchen – Registered Dental Hygienist
Gretchen was born in Pittsburgh, PA and received her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University where she also worked for the OSU College of Dentistry before attending Columbus State College where she completed training as a dental hygienist in 2004. Gretchen is also certified to administer local anesthetic and regularly exercises due diligence regarding continuing dental education to hone her skills and remain current on all the latest hygiene information.
Gretchen began working in Dr. Holman’s office in February of 2012; a little more than a year after moving to Indianapolis from Columbus, OH. Gretchen is married to her wonderful husband, John, whom she met in high school, and has an adorable son, Kolton, and a beautiful daughter, Scarlett, and two amazing stepsons, Graham and Logan. Her father, Paul, lives with them—when he’s not off gallivanting around Florida, wisely avoiding the Indiana winter. Buckeye, the family dog, rounds out the crew of what is always a very busy, frenetic household.
In the unlikely event of some free time, Gretchen likes to read and especially to travel—she recently finished her quest to visit all fifty states and now plans to see as much of the world as is possible. Gretchen enjoys volunteering to help those less fortunate who desperately need dental care, and as her children mature and are more self-reliant, she would like to expand her philanthropic efforts to needful people on a world stage.
Gretchen is highly personable and genuinely enjoys interacting with her patients. She is extremely happy to be a part of Dr. Holman’s dental family and would love the opportunity to serve you in your dental hygienic needs.
Marina – Expanded Function Dental Assistant
Marina was born here in Indiana, a place she loves calling home, and started her dental career in 1994, when she graduated from Dental Careers Foundation with a degree in dental assisting. She attended the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1996 to add to her repertoire the skills necessary to become an expanded function dental assistant. She continues to this day to take additional classes in dentistry in an ongoing effort to stay at the cutting edge of dental technology so that she can provide the best services possible to Dr. Holman’s patients. She is an expert in her field regarding, but not limited to, cosmetic enhancement, endodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery. She loves working with all ages of individuals, from pediatrics to geriatrics, and her strong interpersonal skill set is a real boon to patient care and communication. Marina’s love of dentistry and her unique expertise make her one of the most qualified expanded function assistants in the state of Indiana and Dr. Holman is very happy to have her.
Marina met her wonderful husband in 1982 and was married in 1985 and they have raised three wonderful children, Chelsea, Caleb, and Colby, and now has four precocious grandchildren, Corbin, Lylia, Brooklyn, and Kevin of whom they are justifiably proud. She enjoys traveling and outdoor activities like hiking in the mountains but also enjoys being lazy just lounging on the beach with a cold drink. She is an avid gardener and an amateur photographer but most of all she enjoys spending time with her incredible family and friends.
Marina joined Dr. Holman’s staff in December of 2014 and not a day goes by that she doesn’t relish the opportunity to address with prideful respect and care the many diverse challenges provided by Dr. Holman’s dental practice with the utmost concern for quality and patient satisfaction.
